There’s something exciting happening in the world of modern design! It’s a light and airy style that combines a range of eclectic statements, from the Boho to the geo. White walls, soft colors and clean lines dominate these interiors, with accents such as sheepskin rugs and faux fur pillows adding a cozy vibe. Yes, a room can be breezy and cozy at the same time! Just take a look at my latest listing at London Terrace Towers here. This is one of the most unique Junior One Bedroom at London Terrace. The owner created a breezy bedroom with a roomy Living Room, Dining Room, and separate Kitchen, all with a natural flow and the prewar details you’ve come to expect at London Terrace Towers. Plus A windowed bath and bright, sunny east exposure light the whole apartment, further lighting the warm, hardwood floors.

Modern Eclectic Style from A Beautiful Mess
A Beautiful Mess is filled with delicious recipes, clever crafts, and amazing interiors (often tracking the DIY progress of the bloggers’ homes). In fact, bloggers Elsie, Emma and Laura have all recently moved, and it’s been a treat getting to see the progress in their new abodes. White walls are a popular feature, peppered with colorful accents and striking materials, such as marble and brass. Below we see Laura’s breakfast nook, complete with a brass pendant light, a DIY table in pink, and a furry rug:
Elsie recently shared her beautifully designed guest room, shown in the next image. Note the white walls and bedding, which create a clean slate. Eye-catching colors are introduced through the rug and the abstract painting. A pink side table creates a soft statement (such a hot color this season)! We’re loving the shaggy pillows:

Similar ideas can be done in my 405 West 23rd Street listing because the white walls offer you a blank slate with which you are able to be as creative as you like. Plus, pro tip: houseplants are a wonderful way to introduce greenery into modern interiors, and we’re in the middle of a major houseplant revival. The more interesting the container, the better! Check out this DIY version of the brass bowl hanging planters shown below. Plus, you can’t argue that plants improve air quality!
As mentioned at the top of the post, breezy style can also be cozy. Especially when flourishes such as furry textures are involved! You can take inspiration from how these home owners used the bright red rug to add a pop of color and texture in the living room. The room still feels large and bright but cozy enough to snuggle up on the couch to watch TV.
And last but not least we cannot forget the bathroom. Often a room we forget about, this bathroom offers enough decor detail, large amounts of space, and brightness that you will not be rushing out of it in the morning. This light space creates a sense of calm, rather than stress. Allowing you to start your day in the best way.
